SUBJECT:       2014-2015 Budget Amendments - February 2015 - #43 through #48

Introduction:

State Board of Education Rule 6A-1.006 requires School Board approval for amendments to the District School Budget whenever the function and object amounts in the accounts prescribed by the State Board for the budget form are changed in the original budget approved by the School Board.

Description:

Budget Amendments for February 2015, #43 through #48, with descriptions and statements are attached.

·        #43 – General Fund – The General Fund was amended to adjust estimated revenues for the following project: 

               #13067 – University of South Florida Outreach Program Evaluation – Revenue #449500

The General Fund appropriations were amended by project, school and district cost center administrators to reflect changes in anticipated expenditures.  In addition, fund balance was amended to reimburse Wiregrass Ranch High School for Future Business Leaders of America conference and provide additional funds for classroom supplies for Teacher Lead funds and funds for moving expenses due to the reopening of Shady Hills Elementary and Quail Hollow Elementary.

          

·        #44 – Capital Project Funds – The Capital Project Funds appropriations were amended by project administrators to reclassify capital expenditures to the appropriate objects to reflect changes in anticipated expenditures.  Fund balance was amended to increase funds available for furniture, fixtures and computers at Wesley Chapel and Land O’ Lakes Health and Wellness Centers, Media Center wireless upgrade at Dr. John Long Middle School and architect services for a proposed Wesley Chapel High School’s Fine Arts Academy.

 

·        #45 – Special Revenue Funds – The Special Revenue Funds appropriations were amended by project, school and district cost center administrators to reflect changes in anticipated expenditures.  In addition, estimated revenues were amended in accordance with information received from the Department of Education for the following projects:

 

               #35115 – Pell Grant – Revenue #419900
               #30015 – Title III – No Child Left Behind – Revenue #429300
               #31315 – Title I Part A – Revenue #424000
               #31515 – Title I Part D – Revenue #424000
               #32115 – Carl D Perkins Secondary – Revenue #420100
               #34015 – IDEA Part B Entitlement – Revenue #423000
               #34115 – IDEA Part B Preschool Entitlement – Revenue #423000

·        #46 – Internal Service Funds The Internal Service Fund was amended to adjust estimated revenues for the following projects:

  

               #00000 – General – Revenue #443100
               #50210 – Pasco Education Foundation Science Fair – Revenue #444000
               #44000 – Employee Benefits Program – Revenue #465000 & #474100
               #64400 – EBARM Wellness – Revenue #448400

The Internal Service Funds appropriations were amended to reflect changes in anticipated expenditures.

 

·        #47 – Trust & Agency Funds – The Trust & Agency Funds appropriations were amended to reflect changes in anticipated expenditures.

 

·        #48 – Enterprise Fund – The Enterprise Funds appropriations were amended to reflect changes in anticipated expenditures.

Recommendation:

The staff respectfully requests the School Board's approval of the attached Budget Amendments.
